If you know what you are doing, you don't need an Anti Virus. They are just a waste of money and resources.
Just use brain.exe and probably a browser Add-On like NoScript and you are good to go.
But in case you are inexperienced and feel the need to open each and every .exe file, then most (paid) Anti Viruses will do their job.

In my early days I used Kaspersky and F-Secure. Both did their job. I don't know how they are performing now, since I haven't used them in like a decade, but they are still in my memory.

I'm going to be real everything this person said is correct. Even the best anti-virus in the world can be easily tricked by the average user embedding it into something such as a PDF file for example. But if you really are worried and you want a solid one, ESET smart security truly does cover all basis but it does take up a lot of hardware usage.

Mac most likely don't need antivirus anyway. Just be aware of sites you visit and files you download

Devices running an up-to-date MacOS version shouldn't need to worry about an antivirus. You're getting your software, or at least you should be getting it from the Apple Store. The biggest reason Windows devices get infected is because most people download their programs from websites, not established app stores.
