I thought that they just got shut down by the government? Now they're being DDoS'd? And if they change their name, wouldn't they still be able to be attacked?

No if you look around, the government hasn't said anything about it, and they aren't getting DDoS'd directly their host is.

I haven't read a whole lot about the issue, but I hope what you say is true. Liberty Reserve is an excellent payment method. I only had a dollar or two, but I have heard of people losing thousands.
