It does not matter what language the editor is built for, or whether it is actually a lightweight text editor, or a heavy IDE.

These are mine:

notepad ++
A very lightweight editor I use for practically all of my python, HTML, CSS or JavaScript.

eclipse
A heavier IDE I use for my work in Java.

gedit or vim - Python development.
Visual Studio - C# and VB development.
Eclipse - Java development.

nano or vim. I probably prefer nano though.
I used to love sublime text.

Vim for PHP, Python and Bash.
Visual Studio with Vim plugin for C#.

Sublime. I'm not a machoist, GUIs that are easy on the eyes are easier to use.

Very true. I use a dark theme with custom colors for my eclipse, as well as my np++
