But now that I'm a college student I have to study at the library once in a while.

No Internet at home for the entire community of us here would be similar to not having food or water methinks. The latter two being a manageable ability to do with-out for X amount of time.
Though if I had to choose, I'll take the Internet over food & water any day of the week.
After all, food and water are only two of the five essentials needed for healthy living.
1-Laptop.
2-Internet access (be it stationary or mobile).
3-HackCommunity at home (stationary) & on the move (mobile).
4-Food.
5-Water.

And a majority of three trumps a minority of two last time I counted.
