apt-get Problem #1
Hi , 2 days ago i was installing dhcp3-server Just normally.. apt-get install dhcp3-server -y
but now when im trying to do it again ,or even apt-get update .. It stuck on Waiting headers!
NO Configuration has been modifided cause I run back track from DVD..
It might be that My ISP been Blocked? If so can I Download it through Proxy?How to configure it?
(I've tried export http_proxy=http://64.62.210.105:7808) but it didn't Work.
thank you For your Response.

RE: ap-get Problem #2
I would recommend disabling all non-essential repo's then do

$ apt-get clean all
$ apt-get update

See if that clears it up. You could also look for some repo mirrors and try some that are closer to home. You could also try the package manager like Synaptic as often they will give more detailed errors about what went wrong. Not personally familiar with backtrack though. So not sure what its available to you.

As i was said it's a Original Version of linux,Run it from DVD not modifided,and it was working few days ago..
so i think the Problem in the Download server or something like that ..I don't really know..
What you said didn't Work,But thanks anyway.
by the way Is this command " export http_proxy=http://64.62.210.105:7808" force the teminal to use the Proxy?like when i use apt-get install dhcp3-server -y ,it will use Proxy server?

RE: ap-get Problem #4
It should however why mess around with proxy's when you could just as easily use a VPN, there are plenty of free one's out there, but I think the problem may be with the repositories themselves i can't see an ISP blocking repos (have you checked with them?) besides Backtrack has now been replaced by Kali and development of backtrack as well as support for tools such as metasploit has been abandoned.

Doesnt matter if youve run it straight from the DVD, it sounds to me you are having network issues connecting to some or all of the repo's. This could be on your end or theirs. Which is why i made my suggestions.

Did you also try something like synaptic? did it give you a more detailed error? or no?

I have a simmilar problem on bt5 r3, apt-get update doesn't even work, waiting for headers at 0%
I believe their servers had/have problems?

control first your connection on internet-whithout connection you cannot use apt-get - after try to use aptitude and see if works,at least install synaptic and download what you need.I see on a forum community a verry fast tool -it calls apt-fast and you can increase 20 %your download speed.Try to search and you will find the package to download.

RE: apt-get Problem #8
The solution boils down to turning off http/1.1 pipelining. Here’s how:

Try adding the following to /etc/apt/apt.conf.d/piplining-off.conf:

Code:
Acquire::http::Pipeline-Depth "0";
If you need help , drop me a PM and I will help you with the best I can !
