You know you're a real programmer when you are thinking about how to make your code more efficient while taking a shit.
You know you're a real programmer when you realize that everything written thus far has bugs no matter how much time you spend fixing it.
You know you're a real programmer when you consider a program finished when it is finished, not when it hits an arbitrary deadline.

Very interesting, I can honestly say I've done all of those at least once. But you really hit on the 1st law of programming: "there is always one more bug".

You know you're a real programmer when ... you spend 90% of the time you've allocated for a task writing a one-off to do the task for you, and it still doesnt work right.
