After around two weeks I finally got my laptop back so now I can do stuff again

Mind giving us the back-story? What exactly happened to your laptop in the first place? I'm sure you're pleased to have it back regardless. :-)

The hard drive failed and since it was under warranty it was sent to an hp repair facility to get fixed

Well at least it was under warranty. I've experienced quite a few laptop issues in the past and didn't have a warranty so I had to fix them myself. I ended up purchasing another donor laptop so I could take the parts from it and use them on my main one.

(Facepalm) Hard drives fail at random, it can happen to me again it can happen to you, it can happen to anyone. My laptop doesn't just break down. If it did I would have a Dell laptop
