National debt, really?! Who cares!! That's some brainless politician argument haha.
It's "importance" is always calculated in percent of the GDP, so to reduce it, you certainly shouldn't reduce your population, which would reduce your GPD!Â

Plus we have to keep in mind that with the eternal rollover, and the insanely low (even negative sometimes !) interest rates, pretty much nobody pays this debt.
I believe your view of the subject is biased, you're mistaking cause and consequence.
"Reasons we should immediately lower this scale of growth are", as I was saying, it's already slowing down pretty much everywhere.
"No poverty. More people, less resources.", that's actually by reducing poverty that we have the most effect to slow/stop population growth, not the other way around.
And it seems all the other points you make come from your hat haha, those can seem logical to you but they're far from scientific
Well except the few countries who had a one-child policy, they're not controlling much. In Europe for example that's pretty much the opposite, lots of countries have been trying to incentive people to have at least 2 children with government funding programs but that didn't help!
EDIT : But we're going a bit far from the subject now, there's no link with covid in all of that!
As Jiggly well said :

If it was to reduce human population growth, it hasn't done that. For a start, the disease mostly hurts people who are past the point of reproducing. Young people, the most likely to contribute to population growth are less impacted. As for the number of people who have died.. 0.04% of humanity's current population passed away thus far. It's a drop in the ocean of a population whose growth is still accelerating at an uncontrolled rate. China's one child policy was far more effective at controlling population (China estimates the birth prevention at 400 mil, and western scientists predict approximately 200m).
None of what I said before is personal opinion and should not be taken as such; I am a compassionate human being, and like any human being I don't believe that theres any reason to subjugate the population through any means. This is just some of the things I've read recently that are fuel for thought. You can ignore them if you wish, because as both of you have stated, there is no real link to COVID regarding population density concerns or governmental action. This is purely speculation.
