Nice Post/Tut Dude,

ive learnd a lot about Whrieshark and how it works now, thanks to u Smile

Anyway, I got some questions. It wont work if ur listening to traffic on website that are using https, or am I wrong? ^^
The other thing, u told a previous poster to look for „ping sweeps“. What do u mean? How it works? Any links or some knowledge?

I'm glad you found it useful. You are correct about https it also won't work with targets using a VPNS or TOR because these connections are encrypted. Luckily for https we have a way of bypassing it using "ssl strip" (there's plenty of info about this if you want to search for it and learn about it)

Ping sweeps are pretty simple really, what they do is take a range of IP's from a network ie 192.168.1.1 - 192.168.1.254 and sends out a ping to each address if the address replies then the target is alive (online) it's useful for quickly finding which address are live on a network.

Come on dude, I believe its ethical enough when you are doing this on your friends, and you also tell them that you did that so they get pissed. Its okay like this doesn't seem to me like malicious/non-ethical usage, what do you think?

On Topic : Great Wireshark Basics tutorial well done bro!!

Obviously this is a follow up to your WiFi101 tutorial, so with these two tutorial put together I could essentially sit outside somebodies house with a laptop, connect to their network and then use their own network to jack their information? Does the laptop I use need to have internet connection?
