Couldn't agree more, but it's not just Apple who do this. Take Microsoft for example, they remove features from their operating system when you buy the basic home version and charge you more for crappy software or if you want to be able to address more than 4GB of RAM. Again a lot of companies use similar tactics in order to squeeze every last penny form consumers. The fan boys only make things worse by happily throwing obscene amounts of money at them for products that are barely any better.

I don't actually agree with you. Well I'm not an apple fan but I actually think that they are working well on their products. For example I saw apple IPhone6 presentation and I must admit that upgrades really impressed me. They are moving to the right path.

I wouldn't buy IPhone because you can't customize and tweak it, but it is decent phone for everyday user.

I know it sounds a little cliché but I didn't actually see much in the way of improvement to be brutally honest. All they seem to have done is bring their product in line with the flagship Android devices. NFC and a large screen have been around for a while and they have only just released a true 1080p screen (not even using a 4k camera which is now in use by high end Android devices) and they didn't bother to make it waterproof which is a really useful feature.

As for the watch Samsung have been doing this for a while also, and i works without being paired with a phone.

All in all I don't think the new phone is all that innovative.

Have you read all the new features on the new iPhone? It's not only the new iPhone itself that's interesting, it's iO8 + Mac + iPhone 6 that makes it REALLY interesting!

Also, the new Apple Watch is MUCH more useful than the smart watch Samsung has released.

I read the article on Apples website (and other websites as well as some opinions from online communities), but didn't bother to watch any of the conference.

As for the watch I didn't really research too much into it but didn't see a massive amount of difference between the two. Both can be used to make and receive phone calls and SMS messages, with a dictaphone feature to make the latter easier. Both also offer health and fitness features to aid you in meeting goals whilst exorcising.

To be honest this is not the point I'm trying to make either, my point is that 'fanboys' (of anything be it Apple Android or even Call of duty) will defend their products fanatically even IF they have made little or no improvements over the last generation.

Apple just happened to get mentioned because I noticed this as the conference had finished and IMO Apple's fanboys tend to generally be the most vocal from what I've seen. I didn't spend too much time researching all of the features as I have no plans to buy one I just like to check on the specs as I find technology to be interesting (which is what caused me to notice this and to find the video in question)

As you know too well I'm not Apples biggest fan but this thread was not intended to bash the products they sell but to discuss the buzz around technology itself and the people who take it upon themselves mercilessly put down other companies products (which I admit I'm guilty of myself) and to worship the products and brands that they choose.

The whole world has to know that they were the first that got hold of their new device. They think it will raise their status or something.
