I wish I had the opportunity through schooling to learn a programming language.
Back In my days (with the good ol' Pentium 100 running "4MB" of Ram, "500MB" HDD), not many opportunities existed. In terms of programming, I've found It of Interest to see how a piece of script can be used as a functional entity, therefore I delved Into PHP. I do remember Ex094 and Pscho_Coder on other forums- they certainly know their stuff.

I joined the computer club in school. There were three tracks: Programming, Design and Videography. I remember my dad introducing me to C a while ago (like a few years before) and also I wasn't a fan of camcorders and art. So...yeah.

my father was always showing me stuff as a kid related to computers so I guess I just wanted to become better than him
that and the fact that I was hopeless, lonely, fat, and generally just a full on neet.

My step dad got me into learning HTML and CSS and taught me the basics years ago. From there I learned PHP and MySQL myself. Now I am learning more as and when I need them.

Ultimately why did I start programming? Well I started programming because of the stuff I saw that was made by other people. I told myself I wanted to make that stuff so I searched and searched. I ended up not liking very many languages. After a while I decided I needed to find something to do when I'm older work wise. I wanted a job that I could have fun with so I looked around for computer jobs and ended with programming. Again, I remembered that I didn't really like programming but I liked designing things. That brought me to CSS and HTML. So I guess I officially started programming because I wanted a fun job after I left high school. I'm currently learning PHP and JavaScript, then ending with MySQL. Though, I am a freshman in High School, but I like to plan ahead.

I think I started when I just browsed youtube for the stupidest stuff. Somehow, I ended up with something about batch files, asked my dad about them. He told me about programming. Then he handed me his C++ book and it all broke loose. Then I started HTML and PHP, didn't get around to CSS till as of late, Ruby, Python came next, and then Java, which is about where I am now. Oh Java. hah...
