That's really good! How much money did this particular laptop cost you?

You'd probably say I could've built an awesome desktop box and rightly so.

It was (as still Is) worth around 3k, but I paid 2,400$. That's the most expensive of the lot. The other 5 Predators range between 1,700$ - 2,100$.

That's a big amount of money, but I guess it is very well worth it. I would love to buy a computer like that! My cousin has a $10,000 computer, and he has (if I remember correctly) a $400 racing simulator video game for it, and has an entire setup with a clutch pedal, brake, accelerator, steering wheel, stick shift, and the like. I checked it out before and it's incredible with his massive monitor.

Now that's one Insane setup. I've yet to hear of anyone having anything remotely close to It. It's simply a gamer's dream.

My systems were upgraded around 6 months ago (13k all up), and It's the best Investment I made. Running Quad Cores, SSDs, 32GB Of Ram, GTX1060 (and the 1070 on a couple) Is heaven. One froze the other day and a cold boot literally took around 8 seconds- fully functional Into the Windows environment with all services, processes, applications etc active.

That is indeed like heaven! You made me realize how old my laptop is; over eight years old. That is like a senior citizen in the computing world, and I should look into buying one of those high-end laptops.

My cousin makes a good amount of money at his job; developing firmware, drivers, and low-level code for devices.

If he's dedicated In the IT sector, what a great job to get up to In the morning.

Unless you own one, It's hard to understand just how effective high-end systems operate. Prior to purchasing mine, I had very little clue. I don't know how or why I put up with my old systems for so many years.

I'm planning on rebuilding a new machine from scratch with water-cooling or, a computer that can do what I need it to.

That sounds spectacular! Are you on a budget, or are you planning to get high-end parts?

My last build was in 2015/2016 @ Christmas time. yea!!!

I got a deepcool case, cheap case looks nice though,

Asus ROG VIII ranger z170 mobo
i5 6600k
16 gb corsair dominator planetarium ddr4
pny 250 gb ssd
gtx 960 ftw 4 gb
evga nova 850 watt psu
cooler master air cooler
3x 2560x1080 LG monitors
g510 keyboard
some stupid usb mouse with fish and ocean painted on it.
and a panda wireless adapter that can capture packets

its not much but its really the most powerful machine ive built to date. it all cost me around 1200$ and I got most of it on sale or open box.

the gpu is stock overclocked so i dont get to play with that much, i tried its not stable with any more adjusting,

the cpu is one powerful cpu... got it running 4.5 ghz on air idols around upper 20's to lower 30's and under full load, never seen it get over 60* at room temp. I keep the case side cover off.

Next upgrade may be an i7 with HT and next time a really nice gpu, like a 1070 or 1080 grade. I cant see upgrading from here atm, I would add a second gpu though if it were identical, and could. maybe, upgrade the cpu to a skylake i7...

I need another 16 gb of ram but got the 16gb for 100$ and now its 250$ for that... so im hesitating. may not upgrade this at all except the second gpu, maybe used... christmas time.

What are your views on the GTX 1070?

I also have It, and It chews just about anything I throw at It.

Personally I think its a great GPU for the price I got it when it was retail and i have loved it since then the gpu comes with a overclocking app and you can fully max out the capability of the card and the rgb lights just look n ice
