I think the past and future can't be combined and we need to live in the reality

As a realist, I don't often think about the past subjectively, rather objectively and from the perspective of being unable to change what has happened.
Having done this, it has made it much easier for me to see that the future can morph into anything we have never seen before.
The past is done and the future is unknown, much better to live in the present and take each day as it comes without worrying too much about how you will change your future.
There are plenty of other reasons your future could change for the better or worse that are outside of your control so just don't focus too much on the future implications of your actions.
