RE: What do you like and dislike about Hack Community? 07-16-2013, 04:49 AM

So, we've had a lot of arguments regarding the thanks button.
I just wanted to ask one thing about the thanks button.
Suppose a user makes a HQ thread thats noob friendly. And the thread is made in such a way that almost all questions that comes to the reader's mind are answered in the thread itself(there are many threads like this in HC made by oldschool members).
Suppose the thanks button exists, what will you do after reading the thread, just press the thanks button and go to another thread.
Result : Everyone will do the same as saying "thanks" to a thread is considered "LQ" in HC currently. Everyone will press the thanks button and eventually, the thread will not last even a day. It'll be dead by 1-2 days as it wont have any replies.
The only threads that will be active/alive are the threads in open discussions forum where people normally talk about real life or unrelated to hacking stuff where there is nothing to thank about.
How do we tackle this? Let HQ threads die just like that?
Speaking of LQ posting.
I've seen that in the current scenario of HC, a "thanks" post is considered LQ. But believe me or not, in the old HC, that didnt have the thanks button or this glittering decoration or the alert system or the features newly implemented, there was more quantity and there was FAR MORE QUALITY.
And about the RATs and hacking tools section, its a section where programmers can show off their programming skills they'd used for making such hacking tools. I know, it attracts skids, but if thats removed, where else do programmers show off their programming skills when it comes to making hacking tools? And if thats so, HC Official Programs section should also be closed, as there too, hacking tools are normally shared.
And btw, keeping them is also good for the SEO of HC.
Back to topic, what I dislike about Hack Community : Oldschool members are leaving day by day, some due to personal problems with other members, some due to silly reasons, I want this to stop. There should be peace in here. The forum is not as active as it used to be 2 years ago..
What I like : Members are atleast showing concern for the good of HC and thats a good sign. It shows that they care and respect HC.
I also like bluedog's current design and set of features in this site(but Im against changes now).
