RE: What do you like and dislike about Hack Community? #31
So, we've had a lot of arguments regarding the thanks button.
I just wanted to ask one thing about the thanks button.
Suppose a user makes a HQ thread thats noob friendly. And the thread is made in such a way that almost all questions that comes to the reader's mind are answered in the thread itself(there are many threads like this in HC made by oldschool members).
Suppose the thanks button exists, what will you do after reading the thread, just press the thanks button and go to another thread.
Result : Everyone will do the same as saying "thanks" to a thread is considered "LQ" in HC currently. Everyone will press the thanks button and eventually, the thread will not last even a day. It'll be dead by 1-2 days as it wont have any replies.
The only threads that will be active/alive are the threads in open discussions forum where people normally talk about real life or unrelated to hacking stuff where there is nothing to thank about.
How do we tackle this? Let HQ threads die just like that?
Speaking of LQ posting.
I've seen that in the current scenario of HC, a "thanks" post is considered LQ. But believe me or not, in the old HC, that didnt have the thanks button or this glittering decoration or the alert system or the features newly implemented, there was more quantity and there was FAR MORE QUALITY.
And about the RATs and hacking tools section, its a section where programmers can show off their programming skills they'd used for making such hacking tools. I know, it attracts skids, but if thats removed, where else do programmers show off their programming skills when it comes to making hacking tools? And if thats so, HC Official Programs section should also be closed, as there too, hacking tools are normally shared.
And btw, keeping them is also good for the SEO of HC.

Back to topic, what I dislike about Hack Community : Oldschool members are leaving day by day, some due to personal problems with other members, some due to silly reasons, I want this to stop. There should be peace in here. The forum is not as active as it used to be 2 years ago..
What I like : Members are atleast showing concern for the good of HC and thats a good sign. It shows that they care and respect HC.
I also like bluedog's current design and set of features in this site(but Im against changes now).

@TheAlchemist base the ranking of threads off Thanks, Ratings, and replies. Then they stay alive. I really wouldnt want a thread with 6 pages of thnxz messages, being dug up every week by skids.

Even if the Thank You button remains as defunct, the One Hit Wonders can always be scrapped for the Spam that it is.
If any given Member truly appreciates a thread, a simple Thank You *followed* by input of words as to Why the thread is being Thanked verbally (figure of speech) should allay any concerns as to the difference betwixt useless One Hit Wonders (infer Spam) and the defined act of Giving thanks based upon being Thankfull.
I believe that should cover the Devi's Advocate being played.
And actually, if a no Thank You button remains in affect to keep a thread (infer High Quality) from going the wayward dim recesses of memory by way of interaction, then I'm all for it equally so.
And logically speaking, this holds more merit than my previous commentation on the subject.
It's about time, I was getting quite impatient for someone to address the field in an in-depth manner.

We want your feedback!!

My 800th post

I Dont like:

1)I saw members,
(simpe members),who have to loggin more than 2 years.
I think that it is useless for HC.Simpe Members who have more than 2 years to login must be deleted.
2)I dont like Scammers and Skids. There are some really low quality guys here.
(But i see that Moderators do very good work with dailly BANS.They try to hold Hcs' Quality in a very good level.Thank you.Cool )
3)I dont like Thank Button.I prefer to hold repution system.

Suggestions:

1)I would like to have a live chat. But only upgrade Members,Staff,Moderators,Legends could talk here.
Place: Down and right.
2)I would like ,Geusts dont have Permition to see the content of Pages.
3)Adding Some Sections/Categories.
4)I would like to see more Groups (Like Hc Developers,Helpers).
5)I think that it is not right Members who have not many Posts and they are not active,to have the Ability to post A Thread On Market. For Safe.

Thank You,
Legolas.
