RE: What do you do #21
I'm working at a hardware store lately and it's pretty fascinating, since I don't yet know so much about it. However, I usually try to make money online by making websites, selling tools to other fellow programmers and basically creating random projects that I end up monetizing them somehow. But, as stated above it's pretty hard to find opportunities all the time...

Working at a hardware store, I could definitely live with. Employee discounts on electrical fittings, wiring, and piping equipment, and tools would keep me in heaven. I get to tell people how to finish projects all day (I love fixing problems and explaining what I did, and what they can do too!) and a substantial amount off of the things I need in order to build the things I want.

Honestly I think the most miserable job I've had so far was working for an IT Repair Shop, which I put in capitals because that is the name of this bastion of intellectualism. They're all AA fanatics; Now there's nothing wrong with AA, but don't turn it into your religion (Big Book even says DON'T), and don't push your crappy pseudo-belief system on me. The shitheel who originally owned the place got charity status before he croaked, so they can get people to volunteer, and those who are lucky enough to labor in that nasty little overcrowded shop, can be paid under minimum wage because of the tax exempt status bullshit.
I worked for them for a minute wanting to put in 40 hours and build myself an excellent laptop. If you put in 40 hours in the back for these assholes you get free reign of every part in the shop (unless it's just too profitable a piece of hardware) in any format you want, and Jesus Christ do they ever NOT work on/sell/get rid of any laptops that come in.
They sell perfectly good, repairable systems for $15 a piece and throw in a charger, which is actually less money than putting in a full work week just to get a computer. Especially when my work week is 50+ hours at a minimum of $12 hourly.
I think on Monday I'm going to go in there and put together a system in front of them, making sure it fires up and everything, and give 'em $15 for it, come back here and turn it into a $500 machine.

I entirely refuse to work a “normal” job or be a modern day slave. I am an anarchist and I practice agorism and utilize the remaining free market (and other markets I may not be able to talk about here) to earn a living. My lifestyle is not easy, in fact it is probably far more difficult than a day job, but I know no other way, and I won’t comply. I do a variety of things, from making my own natural beauty products and selling them at flea markets, to freelancing, to pet sitting/house sitting, and a lot of other “odd jobs.” My lifestyle isn’t as devious as it may sound to an outsider, but it is a lot of work to maintain, and requires extreme self-motivation.

It's bizarre more than anything else.

By the same token, quite fascinating.

Why, thank you, sir! I think I'm pretty damn fascinating myself. Anyone who is brought into the circle is worth ten normal mortals. I'm not liked by a great many; Tolerated by a few; Befriended by the classiest!

I am a full time student, but I help to develop a cool little cyberpunk visual novel on the side, with my focus being on 3d modelling. If everything goes right, it will get released in about a year

Fulfillment Is satisfaction.

It seems you're well and truly gratified with life as a whole.

Actually, I mostly hate my life, but I gotta try to stay positive or I'll put a piece of
metal in my skull.

The mind Is a very powerful tool.

Get rid of all negativity, don't allow others to control your emotions and take control of your actions & thoughts.
Easily said than done, but just as easily done as said.

The fact that I'm so smiley goes to show I don't let people easily phase me, but after a few weeks, or months of people grinding on you, you can't help but get a little dent in the armor.
Especially when you're not allowed to feel feelings because they interfere with the overly sensitive feelings of others.
Oh well! I rewired an arc welder tonight, no specs or manuals. That's pretty kickass. The guy was going to have to go buy another machine before I stepped in. Small victories.
