My girlfriend doesn't really care if I call her names or not. Just say sweet things sometimes like 'you're my angel' or whatever. I used to say princess sometimes as well, like 'goodnight my lil' princess'.

I've only ever used my SOs first name or nickname. I feel like pet names are generally sexist and, at times, degrading. Occasionally I'd do it out of irony with really off the wall terms like sugarbritches.

For every female I been with I have asked them if there is any pet name that they prefer, so far most of them preferred to be called "baby girl", "baby", "babe" or a combination of the three. I have had others that preferred "sweetie", "darling" or just their nickname (IE my wifes name is Angela but she prefers Angie)

Yeah, I try to be as sweet as I can. I was hanging out with her a week or two ago, and I told her that she has the best personality ever.
This is what I said: "When I first met you, after you walked away, I told someone that you have the best personality ever" she knows who I said it to, I just said that for confidentiality...

I call her by a shortened version of her actual name. Don't rush it and just go with whatever feels natural, as it will seem forced/silly otherwise. You might even feel more comfortable using her actual name and there's nothing wrong with that either.

I started calling her babe and she started calling me boo so I mashed em and I call her Baboo most of the time. Weird I guess but it works for us, haha

Babe, Baby, Babyboo, Muis (mouse), pluis, pluizenbol, schat (baby in dutch) and sometimes other things.

It depends from time to time.

I feel like pet names for each other usually just manifest over time. I know a bunch of couple's whose pet names are made up of in-jokes between them. Shortened versions of their names are nice, especially if nobody else uses the shortened version but you/close people to them. Does that make sense?
