Same here.

I clearly remember the good ol' 16-bit Windows 3.1 back In the early 90s. I boiled the kettle, made a cup of coffee and It was still booting up.

MX Linux, currently. I am glad most of the programs I need already exist in this distro although I don't know why apt-get install ... doesn't work.

It installs the program but does not launch it.

Have you tried running apt-get update/upgrade, to update the software you've Installed to the latest version?

Oh, it finally worked. Thanks. Is it related to new versions of the linux kernel or a disro specific bug? I have tried "apt-get install ..." or "pacman -S ...." in other distros too, yet had the same problem. Is that something all distro providers, developers contributing to the kernel negotiated to come to a consensus or irrelevant to the all these fabrications of my own imagination?

It's good to read that your Issue has been solved.

I'm not entirely sure why It's the case with ex-amount of distros, but It tends to fix the problem a lot more often than not.
