What Language To Begin With? #1
Before someone tries to crucify me for asking the community, I have and am doing my own research.

I know that being able to code is an extremely useful skill to have, and figure it's about time I begin learning. From what I've seen, Python would be to go-to language for someone without any previous experience so I'm considering starting here.

I don't have any specific goals currently in what I want to eventually be able to do with coding.

If you've got any advice, it would be greatly appreciated.

You'd want to make good use of the language you're Intending to learn (personal or job opportunity reasons), so you need to first establish the above. That aside, python, pearl, JavaScript, Java and C# are just a few to start off with.

Thanks for your input, and I agree completely. I'll take some time to think about what I really want to achieve with coding.

To begin with, I suggest selecting one language and sticking to that prior to moving onto another.

Once selected, don't move onto the next step/chapter, until you "fully" understand the current one.

Python is an excellent choice for beginners. Once you'll know your way around Python, take a look at C++/Java. Good luck learning Smile

I suggest Python since it is easy to read for a newcomer to programming. Learn the concepts and fundamentals of object oriented programming with Python and you can apply that same knowledge to other programming languages.

For example, verbs, nouns, and adjectives are common components of languages. So if you understand what a verb is in English, you also understand what a verb is in Spanish. You know what you want to say, just need to learn how the other language writes it. This is similar with how programming works- concepts of loops, conditionals, functions, etc translate across different programming languages.

I suggest you to begin with "HTML", it isnt a language, however with this you will understand how this "world" works. Personally I started leraning HTML and CSS, which are the languages to create a webpage( mostly used ).

Agree.

This Is the absolute minimum and anyone who's looking at pursuing a programming language, must know HTML. It's so simple, that you can learn It entirely within a week.

I have already begun with Python, but I will definitely take a look into HTML and CSS as well. Thank you for the suggestion! If you know a good place to begin learning HTML give me a heads up, otherwise Ill start looking tomorrow
