If It's any consolation, In my locality It's a minimum of 3 months for the second dose.

A minimum!? Damn. I am failing to understand why the manufacturers can say "this is the time between vaccines" and governments can disagree by a very wide margin. 12 weeks is supposedly the limit for getting your second dose, not that you can't get it after that point, but there isn't any research on the efficacy of the vaccines after that point. I was finding this very frustrating, until I remembered that I'd rather live with only one dose (or none) if it means someone who needs it more than me, gets theirs. Elderly people/vulnerable/people in India all need this more than I do.

I totally agree that a minimum 12 week waiting period Is extreme.

And my post Is based on an elderly family member In his 90s who, after having the first shot, was told to come back In 3 months to see If It's available.

That's really shocking. I hope they get it sooner!

It's certainly not right, particularly for the elderly aged In their 80s and 90s.

I'm aware that there must be a 14 day gap from the flu shot to the virus vaccine, but a 3 month wait for the first & second vaccine Is extreme.

holy SHIT that was a rough two days. doesnt help that this is apparently a really bad year for seasonal allergies, so i woke up the morning after my shot with a runny nose and gross cough. I panicked thinking i actually had covid but 2 tests came back negative, finally popped some allergy pills and now im (mostly, still coughing up some mucus) fine. I got hit last night by some pretty rough chills and aches, and my arm still hurts a bit, but overall not the worst experience of my life. bronchitis was worse, and my tetanus shot definitely hurt more. not looking forward to my next dose.

An elderly family member got vaccinated around a month ago, and much to my surprise, he did not experience any side effects.

Which one did you have? There seems to be a common experience where some people get sick with one dose, and have 0 issues with the next (bar the sore arm).

There's a number of people in this thread who have shared their vaccine experience already Smile
