I love it so no I don't really hate it. As pretty much everyone else has said, hate is a pretty strong word. What makes you hate it rather than just being indifferent to it? Has it done something to negatively affect your life?

This may be an unpopular opinion but does anyone else absolutely hate anine & manga?

I did up until I did ecstasy while watching one. Now I love anime. I still don't care for the majority of people who watch it, however. They remain cringelords who I have nothing in common with.

I think the vast majority associate it with childish cartoons without actually giving it a chance.  I remember in high school how much the anime club was roasted.  A few of my friends were in there so I felt bad lol.  Anyway, I don't hate it, it's okay (anime that is, I've never gone through a manga).

I generally think it is for children... it's not like family guy where there is adult humor.

Short answer: Well, no.

Long answer: No. I find it hard personally to find an enjoyable anime; most anime's are over-dramatic, but that is just the modernised Japanese style. The lesser styled themed 'the serious', is the style I enjoy the most. Dour themed such as: Monster, Death Note, Another, etc, is a theme I enjoy in movies, it is one of the reasons I respect Asian horror films. It's one of the reasons I don't enjoy Marvel/Starwars films, etc

As the quote goes: "People fear what they don't understand and hate what they can't conquer." This holds true, give different Anime's a try. I suggest working out what type of movies you enjoy and cross-search with genres of Anime if you're trying to get an excuse to experience it.

Not all animes are childish, except for a few like Blend-s and one other I can't remember the name of, I don't like them at all. And yes they're actual drawings, but that doesn't mean other shows that are also drawings are just as bad right? You agreed that Family Guy was a good show, and one of my own favorites that's not an anime, Rick and Morty which is also great. Now back to the childish thing, not all animes have childlike plots. Take for example High School of The Dead. The majority of it is killing zombies and a bunch of ecchi. That's not childish, is it? In the end, it's all how you look at it.

Those that think anime is for children, are people who have never watched real anime. There are anime series for kids, in the same way there are american cartoons for kids, and ones for adults. There are plenty of mature shows (hell I can't stand the childish ones either).
