I stumbled upon this great concept. The data pins are shorted together and kept disconnected from the client device, so only power is transferred. I might make a few of these later (whenever I can get hold of a new soldering iron, or butane)

Just don't connect the middle 2 (data) pins, the other 2 are for power.

This Is an excellent concept.

When plugging your device In an unfamiliar port, you never know what can be transmitted. Simple, yet very effective.
