I don't see what you mean when you say it doesn't work with <img> or mybb's [img] tags. Worked perfectly the last time I did it.
You must be doing it wrong.

I cant test it right now, but the last time I did it worked.
Make sure the forum you're on doesnt block fake images. By default it should't, but this became such a problem that some faggot made a plugin that a lot of people are now using.
