Trivium - Losing My Religion (REM cover) #1
I love both Trivium (seeing them with Arch Enemy in November!) and REM, so it's only natural that I would overplay a cover of one's song by the other.

I think covers are great, a band with good sound and their own unique style take another (usually crazy popular) track and make it even better.
For instance, Disturbed's cover of Simon and Garfunkel's Sound of Silence. I don't think the original had the right vibe, but David Draiman's vocals and the almost-creepy acoustic style fit it perfectly.

Very true, I've experienced this with a lot of covers/remixes.

For example, a band named "The Steppers" remade the original of "Smokie  Living Next Door to Alice" to this (which I find quite hilarious):
