Today It Rained #1
Today,

I skated through the rain and it was one of worst experiences I've ever had to undergo.

I was drenched within 10 seconds of stepping foot outside, but I didn't have a choice because I forgot my final composition in my room and I was about to be late to class.

I am soaked and freezing.

To top it all off, my board is irreversibly destroyed.

I'll admit skating through the rain felt sort of like surfing. It was cool for a moment.

My shit got waterlogged the first time I rode through the rain.

RIP the Plan B.

If you swap out your Reds or Bones or whatever for some crappier bearings, skating in the rain is awesome. There's a bunch of tutorials on how to weatherproof decks and bearings, too, so you might want to check those out.

For your current situation, pop your bearings out, take off one of the covers (just put that side on the inside of the wheel when you're putting everything back together), clean out any dirt, and spray some WD40 in there (maybe grease it, too)

Edit: just remembered that Expedition One proofs most of their decks
Edit 2: bamboo longboards (Loaded and Arbor) are naturally watertight
It's often the outcasts, the iconoclasts ... those who have the least to lose because they
don't have much in the first place, who feel the new currents and ride them the farthest.

They say WD40 is a no-go. Ever since I was a little boy...

Also, my Reds were already starting to go.

WD is a godsend if you don't use it too much, and definitely try cleaning out your bearing before buying new ones

It's actually not good for maintainence. It just makes it smooth riding.

Skateboard or longboard? At my previous university everyone used longboards.
