Thoughts on Elllo? 01-04-2015, 03:13 AM

It has been said that the more recent social media, entitled "Ello" is to be the next Facebook.
It is strongly based on promoting that they have no advertisement allowed on their site, unlike Facebook. I don't know how they can make much money, but it seems to still be developing.
Who here has an account on Ello, and has experienced it?
What are your opinions?

I have an Ello account, seems alright for me. Although I've never really liked Social Networks anyway.

The fact I haven't heard of it, likely means it won't be the next Facebook any time soon. Who knows? Maybe they will find something other than the fact they are ad-free to sell their product.

As a business they make no sense. When a company provides a service for free, the user becomes the product. That's how the world works. Their selling point is the user is not the product, which from a business standpoint makes 0 sense.
