Homosexuality was treated as a "philia" under that definition for many thousands of years. You can't use the word "sexuality" to mean "sexual orientation", then proceed to further modify the definition of the latter to the secondary definition, just because it fits your image of what a sexuality is. A persons sexuality is their orientation or preference. Even disregarding this, the reason it is classified as a philia is the same reason homosexuality was deemed a disorder for many thousands of years. The majority of people cannot understand it. There is nothing inherently less "human" about liking those younger than you than liking those of the same sex. If we argue homosexuality is not a disorder, we are no longer classifying a mindset that makes that person unable to reproduce with people they sexually prefer as a disorder.

It had to be legally argued that homosexuality was not a disorder, and that the very same association you cite was wrong in classifying it as such( they did so in the 50s ). While no official body still recognizes homosexuality as a disorder, I guarantee you the hyper-religious conservatives across the globe would still consider it as such, and they are greater in number than you may like to admit.

This actually seems quite legit, also isn't it kinda weird to try to bring out facts from only an American Association and not the countless others that are scattered around the globe?
Also isn't there a more universal Association for Psychology?
