Is the lottery a good thing?

I think it's an awesome thing, Someone buys tickets and if they win they get millions in return. I don't think it makes the economy unbalanced because there is a lot of money to go around in the richer countries where most of the lotteries happen.
Some of the lotteries have been ridiculous such as the national one where you could of won something like 480 million in GBP.

Although people think that when they try they just lose their money but my parents do the lottery anyway just in case even though it's like 1/60,000,000 chance lmao.

And also seeing that the government gets nearly half because of taxes, it really helps the economy.

I don't think there's anything wrong with it, it's a good way for making money on the hosts end and helps out the economy.
