Teh Internet is Serious Business:
'Teh Internet is Serious Business' is a play (fictional account which has been inspired by a true story) showing in the near future at the Royal Court Theatre in London. It's about a 16-year-old London schoolboy and an 18-year-old recluse in Shetland meet online, pick a fight with the FBI and change the world forever - which is based upon the true events of the LulzSec arrests.

Quote:Tim Price gets behind the code with the original Anonymous members and creates an anarchic retelling of the birth of hacktivism. A fictional account of the true story of Anonymous and LulzSec, the collective swarm who took on the most powerful capitalist forces from their bedrooms.

Discussion with former hacktivists:
In addition to the play, there is also an interesting in-conversation with three former Anonymous and LulzSec hacktivists. A ban forbidding communications between the pair, or any of the wider Anonymous collective was lifted in June this year, following a two year internet ban. This will be the very first time they have spoken since the day of the court case in 2011.

Quote:Former Anonymous and LulzSec hacktivists Mustafa Al-Bassam, Jake Davis and Ryan Ackroyd will appear together publically for first time since being convicted for computer hacking on the Royal Court Theatre stage, in conversation with Academic and Anthropologist Gabriella Coleman.

Figured this might be interesting for anyone interested in this particular subject - if you are, then it would be wise to book tickets soon-ish as they'll most likely sell out soon. Also, the discussion event will be live streamed on The Royal Court website.

Very interesting. I don't particularly respect Anonymous or Lulzsec, but I find the idea of hacktivism interesting, even as clusterfucked as it is. I don't live in the UK, sadly.

'Murican scum.

Anonymous is dead. They were respected until lots of 13 year old skids were associated with them, now they belong in the internet's history book. Their recent OPs are jokes.

Hacktavism is good but not when its 90% show. Anonymous is just a fetid pool. They don't do anything, maybe the original members did but nowadays they are just a collective of every edgy 12 year old's who spouts bullshit and dos shit. I guess some are OK though.
