A dear friend of mine got a lot of tattoos on her hands, knuckles etc and now that she's a lot older, she regrets the fact that they cannot be hidden without wearing gloves.

Or better advice: get a tattoo that actually means something to you, that you're proud of, and wouldn't have any problem telling the whole story to the parole board.
