I like it a lot more since I don't have to pipe anything and it just works really well.
I've tried this method before and to be honest didn't have much success with it. and seemed to be very choppy once I did finally get it to run. (it's basically the same idea as this one wrapped up in a fancy package)
Also just found this which is related to the subject at hand and may be of interest to someone

So by 2021 we *might* have native Linux support for netflix
I can only hope netflix drops silverlight. It's a bunch of garbage. As for netflix desktop originally I didn't have issues but checking just now it seems a little choppy (But I am downloading a blockchain right now..). It really depends on your hardware. If you have the processing and memory to spare I suggest netflix-desktop for less of a headache. Else use the silverlight pipe. This is why I just watch it on my ps3 haha
I have multiple ways of watching it (phone, tablet, ps3, smart TV) I did this out of principle lol. As for hardware I run a 2.5ghz i3 with 8gb ram (plus 16gb swap) so I have the hardware to run it but just doesn't seem as smooth. They should have dropped it years ago imo the last major update ss far as I can tell was was back in 2010 so the protect has well and truly been abandoned, Microsoft have also stated that they will cease to support silverlight in 2022 (which is quite a way off but will at least force them to stop using it) what we need to do is expose some major vulnerability within the plugin and force their hand
Haha true true... But hey http://www.cvedetails.com/vulnerability-...light.html by all means force their hand. That would be very interesting
