Excuse me, I thought places like America got hurricanes and rough storms? What happened to our "mild" weather?

London's famous O2 arena:

Rip the cars & trees all over:

Roofs ripped off buildings:

Power station tower collapse: (PS there's supposed to be a third tower in the middle)

Check out this video of planes trying to land at London Heathrow Airport: (Apparently plane spotting has become viral thanks to someone live streaming these plane landings on youtube)

A screenshot from the UK Power Network showing power outages:

While the plane livestream is a good giggle, it's also very sobering to hear of people who have died due to building material being thrown loose and from falling trees.

This video of planes struggling to touch down is very terrifying considering they are funny yet full of people just trying to go from one place to another. Imagine having a great day out during a routine work trip and the plane ride home is that rough. Very sad to hear of the storm. I don't watch much news and get curated information from an RSS feeder so I hadn't heard of it till now. Hope that things get better.

I know it looks very scary, but those pilots and airport staff are very good at what they do. It would be horrible for any nervous flyers, but the pilots etc wouldn't try any moves if they weren't certain they could do it safely, which is why they are so quick to abort if necessary. It's very impressive I must say. I have never heard of a crash at heathrow due to windy weather.
