Statement on Bans 10-29-2015, 08:26 PM
#1
It's very rare that I've had to ban such a large amount of people in such a short time span. While I'd like to ignore the situation and move on (as I'm sure others do), I don't want my intentions misunderstood.
A few notes:
Given what I have noted, I do not consider these individuals a loss to the community. It's important that members understand that the staff team's role is to interpret and enforce the rules. Members that show a blatant disregard for rules, as these members did, are not welcome on Sinisterly. I will answer questions regarding to the recent bans in this thread, but do not plan to address them elsewhere. It's important that the community target rulebreakers and focus on moving on. We've only lost 10 members and are not dead, despite recent rumors.
A few notes:
- Each person that was banned yesterday/today directly and intentionally broke rules.
- Each person received fair warning prior to being banned. This is especially the case with members that had the username color of #202020, as I contacted each individual.
- A number of these people had received multiple warnings and chose to continue breaking the rules.
- Many of the members (i.e. @BlueScreen, @Dyme), had been banned on more than 4 separate accounts. These members should not be considered as a part of the community.
- Members with the ban reason "posting personal information" blatantly used personal information of staff members in their usernames, which is against multiple forum rules.
- Members with the ban reason "disrespect to staff" had made inflammatory/outright offensive remarks directly towards staff.
