Honestly, everyone was saying pretty much the same stuff about Heath Ledger playing the Joker and he turned out to be amazing at it.

So you never know, Ben Affleck may be a good batman.

There's also the possibly that he'll be a shit batman... but I don't think they'd pick him if he was shit.
