After creating a thread within the Buyers Bay section, an ub3r member contacted me, with little-to-no negative reputations or issues under the "Trust Scan" tool. He said he would provide me with a copy of the game for $35.00.
Messages were back and forth up until the point where I sent the payment - he failed to respond after that, and two days later, he's been reading my private messages and has been completely ignoring them.
I understand that it's just after the new year and he may be preoccupied, but he wasn't preoccupied enough to take my $35.00, and he's continuing to respond to threads on the board. I'm in the process of writing up a deal dispute thread, but that's not going to benefit me at all.
Typical though, I've never had any issues with scammers on HF (well... maybe one other one in the past), but there's always talk of HF being full of them. I guess I learnt the hard way though. That $35.00 could have went towards today's fuel. >:-/
It is full of them lol, I never trust anybody unless I've done deals with them before. I've watched plenty of 1000+ rep users scam out.
