On your edit profile there's fields for ICQ, AIM, MSN and Yahoo (does anyone use any of these still apart from ISIS?)

Is even MSN anymore? Afaik it was discontinued a couple of years ago.

Messenger Is now Skype.
So perhaps the MSN field can simply be changed to Skype.

There's a probably a pretty good reason for not publicly posting a doorway your private information, but I wonder what that reason could be.

What is the "doorway" you're talking about? How is a skype username any more or less of a "doorway" than any of the other instant message services fields exist for? A large portion of the forum member base uses Skype so it's not an entirely ridiculous suggestion.

I don't have an issue regarding the popularity and usefulness of the proposed suggestion. I'm simply raising a concern about potential privacy issues.

I get your point but at the end of the day it's still optional.
