He would lose SEO for a site name, and domain, that both wouldn't give him better SEO than he currently has alone. Regardless of any other factors, these aren't going to be an advantage.

Few points:
-When I first saw the thread name, I thought it was someone trolling.
-If you do change the forum name, you better change yours to The Vicious or The Sinister. Of course, I will laugh at that every day.
-Vicious or Sinister is even more ambiguous than AF, and doesn't abbreviate nicely like AF does.
-There is nothing vicious or sinister about the site. I find it pretty cool place actually.
-In fact, I highly recommend changing the site name to The Cool Club.

Long story short,
IMO. if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
