Hence keep multiple systems up and running. I have 7 laptops active, with 3 test systems. I'll never fall short of devices.

Must be nice Tongue I have a Desktop but its old and I haven't used it since i've gotten my laptop. I need to start remembering to make backups, now I wont forget cause this has happened to me several times in my life and it fucking sucks.

I got a virus on my Desktop like 3 years ago and I tried to remove it so it deleted my system32 :L
I lost all my Photoshop graphics when I was younger and everything I've ever coded. My websites, my java programs, my minecraft hack clients. I cried....I literally lost my entire childhood. Things I couldve went back and studied if I ever wanted to learn again.

So now I really need to do better. Thank god I kept all my current graphics on mega.nz with their desktop sync <3 If I didn't do that then I would've once again lost it all Sad

It's unfortunate that you've lost so many Irreplaceable files.

You can run recovery tools, however there's not a single program that will guarantee a 100% recovery rate and those that do, are under a total misapprehension. In terms of performing backups, I've always stood by my very own motto :

"Today Is never too early, and tomorrow Is always too late".

Yea it sucks Sad So many things just gone and of course not one download link from my posts back i the day work, so yea they're gone Stressed
Also, I feel like there is no point of them recovery tools, maybe if I didn't start following a tutorial on YT after windows crashed i'd have a chance. The dude was typing a bunch of commands into the DISKPART without explaining what they did; and I was blindly following him, ended up wiping my main drive with the "clean" command :L
My luck isn't the greatest xD It's been proven over the years

The "clean" command In Diskpart, wipes the disk but does not zero out (overwrite) Its contents, so there's still the possibility to recover ex-amount of data.

If you used the "clean all" command, every sector on the disk will be overwritten, hence zero chance of recovery.

I understand your position.

Do perform regular/Incremental backups on multiple external drives- and not just the one. I've had countless SSDs and USB sticks crash to the point of losing functionality. Thankfully, I had my data (and still do) backed up on three external devices.
