Charge it or not? #1
Ive setup something like a laptop station with a second monitor.
Im wondering if I should always charge my laptop while using it even tho its full or disconnect the charger while working and only charge it while im not using it.
Is there a difference or do both ways affect the battery and performance the same?
Couldnt find anything online.

You should not charge your laptop while it's being used. I have had experiences where family members would use their laptops exclusively while they were charging, and a few months later they would experience issues with their laptop batteries like slow charging and fast battery draining. It's better in the long run to just monitor your laptop's battery percentage and plug it in once your battery percentage gets down to around 10-15%.

Really sound advice. I'm glad you guys mentioned this. I've been using a very old laptop that has a bad battery and actually can't hold a charge. Now it needs to always be plugged in or it dies in about 30 seconds.

However, I just ordered a new laptop so this is a great reminder to change the habit!

It's one of lenovo's legion lappies with the 2060. I'd normally much rather buy a desktop but I've got no desk or anywhere to put one in my current living situation. The Lenovo was in my budget and in stock xD Hopefully, it should be decent for what I want to run, though!

I've used lenovo's before and quite enjoyed them. I've also found that the Intel and nvidia components in laptops just seem to last so much longer than their and counterparts (perhaps that may change with amds newer products, but I'm not prepared to take that risk yet). It was about 900 british pounds. Not the cheapest, but arguably not the most expensive option either.

Stores seemed to have very limited stock after the Christmas/New Years holiday.

I have 7 laptops In total, and they're booted up and running on charge 24/7.

Three years later, and their battery life/performance remains at Its optimal state. I still get around 3-4 hours on battery with general computing tasks.

I thought modern laptops/batteries solve for the problem batteries used to run into when being charged 24/7. I could be wrong though
