At our school, we learn a bit about the history of religion, because you need this information to understand why composers did what they did, how the music was played and where and generally how art was accepted and in what form.
Religion as it is... well I'm against it. Schools should teach how things work, how they are and they all should be based on a solid proof. As far as I know, no religion so far managed to get a solid proof.
Staff will never ever ask you for your personal information.
We know everything about you anyway.

I think religion should be taught as mythology, and should not be presented as something to be feared from.

so do you support people that are polytheist ?

i'm not sure that knowing well this terms: polytheist -but if means a person who have more religion i think yes.Watch the Life of Pi -for an example.I support a person who search the thrue behind all the culture, behind the coran ,the holly bibble ? ,shinto, zen, hindu or chan or whatelse,i think that is right to study all of them -because you will find the essence of all the believes.Even Einstein believe that there is a God-a divine creature how make all things that surround as. What i don't think as good is that one persons sustains that one religion is more efficient than another.

let me correct you on Eisenstein he was a agnostic theist http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Religious_v...t_Einstein

i fail to see what good can religion do on our society.

Well search and read this:
- Time magazine, 23 dicembre 1940, p.40
- Isaacson, Einstein: His Life and Universe, Simon e Schuster 2008,p.27
- Albert Einstein, Religion and science, 1930
- for a letter from 1946; quoted on Helen Dukas and Banesh Hoffman, Albert Einstein – The Human Side
- H. Dukas and B. Hoffmann Albert Einstein: the Humane side, Princeton 1989, p. 32

i think that is plenthy enought to prove that Einstein believes in God.

Well, in my opinion, it could be taught in schools, but it should be interpreted in history or something like that, and not so that the teacher forces you to come to that religion and believe in their god.

I am a strong atheist, I think we should learn about the history but it stops there. Most religions are full of hate, for example, Christianity, gays, Islam, gays.
If I'm honest, we would be a lot more scientifically advanced if religion did not exist.

I don't think we will ever live in a world without religion, I'm not sure we'd be more advanced, I do however think there would be a lot less conflict
