If yes, then I don't see any reason why you should not get a Mac.

Also be aware that on new newer MacBooks the RAM is soldered onto the motherboard and cannot be changed. On the most recent 2016 MacBook lineup the HDD is also soldered directly onto the motherboard and cannot be changed, so if you buy the newest MacBook you're stuck with the configuration you bought until you get a new computer.

In all seriousness though, that's a shame about the newer models preventing you from upgrading without having to buy an entirely new machine. I feel like Apple are so money grabbing but that's the way of the world.
I'm glad I don't need to do heavy animation or video work so PCs have always been pretty perfect for me. I like uniqueness of machines that aren't part of Apple. I feel like Apple products are all the same looking too - which is part of the brand ofc.
