Great information here for anyone that ever decides to target you or your computer systems. For example, off the top of my head we can link you to sites that exploit issues in Chrome or Opera specifically or we can test our malware/trojans for detection on those anti-malware tools.

I would have to click any links that you provided to me or you would have to be living near me so you could perform a MITM attack for that to happen, otherwise it won't happen.

You never download anything off the internet? how about anyone else the posts their "security configuration"?

A social profile can be built based around your online activities. Even just the activities on this forum. Might not be *me* that sends you a link. But maybe someone posts a link to some gay ass anime "show" that we know you like. Or maybe you're inclined to download some cool new booter someone just created or a minecraft crack. Or maybe we just write a tutorial on some information you find interesting and post a link.

What I am getting at - is you can be targeted without "me" directly approaching you with a suspicious link.

It's kinda like me coming to your door and asking to sell you something via credit card. You would (should) be suspicious. But what if I were to put a professional looking flyer in your mailbox, with telephone ordering for say, a local pizza shop? maybe even mimic a local one and just change the telephone number? You order and pay over the phone and only figure out something's wrong when your pizza doesn't arrive, for example.

People are more inclined to do things if they think they are in control.

I don't download any warez, hacks, cracks or anything of the sort.

Besides, even if someone was able to exploit my browser that is where zero-day protection comes in such as Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit.

Maybe you don't. Maybe you are protected from everything possible (except essentially nothing on the internet is truly unhackable...)

But I am still illustrating a point as to why it's not a brilliant idea for people to post information about any/all of their security based products.

You may consider it security through obscurity, but one of the first steps to exploitation is information about the target. Volunteering that information on a public forum is stupid, plain and simple - even if you *believe* it will not lead to your compromise.

While I agree with you to some point posting what security software you use really poses no risk.

Well...
* Grsecurity patches applied to bleeding edge kernel.
* Hardened userspace (recompiled utils with hardening flags, daemons in chroots or namespaces, etc).
* iptables denying everything except what I specifically permit out/in.
* Browser processes and the likes sandboxed.

Only problem with such setup is it is a pain to maintain over time, and tends to break a lot, with many hours spend recompiling. Not recommended if you enjoy seeing sunlight.
