Same here, seldom do I need to access my desktop.

Almost everything Is done (on the Windows platform) via File Explorer, the start menu or the taskbar.
Please keep your desktop clear and organized xD

Yeah, exactly!

Although, I'm sure if I was one of those with 3-4 screens I'd see it more. Lol!

If you don't use the desktop for anything, why would you leave icons all over it? I have to use a VM at work and everyone leaves documents all over the desktop. It drives me insane

I can 100% relate to this.

My boss has two 24 Inch monitors, and each one literally has 200+ Icons/folders/files. How he manages to locate each one quickly and efficiently, Is beyond me.

I use desktop pretty much everyday, When I am working on a project I have sticky notes and desktop till finishing that.. then will move its location.

But you are right as long as you don't need Desktop then there is no reason for keeping bunch of useless icons.

Thats not really the point, at least to me. Its simply done to be flashy, to wow your friends, or just to have something nice to look at when its not in use. I have a single room apartment, so I can see my pc from everywhere. Its the centerpiece of my home.

It Is the point - that's your preference and usability, which obviously differs to mine. Why would I waste time customizing and making my desktop attractive, when I never use It nor view It?

Each to their own.

I try to keep my desktop as clean as possible.

I will never understand how anyone finds anything on a cluttered desktop.

so much this. I mean, my apartment is a mess, with dishplates everywhere in the kitchen,
but when it comes to my computer, Im a control freak extremist, everything must be neat, tidy, and free from imperfection.
I ALWAYS make sure to read, categorize and then archive EVEYTHING in my mail box, this does not require an explaination.

It'd be like him leaving dirty mugs all over his office. Why do it!? I once put everyone's stuff into a folder - not deleted, moved to tidy it - and everyone utterly freaked. They complained nothing worked. Which is BS as it was all still there, but in one singular folder. Ridiculous people.

I used to use sticky notes all the time! I still do. I wish I could customise my sticky notes more, without having to download a new program xD

I have normally about 1 row of icons on the far left, ordered according to function and frequency of use. However, I'm thinking of getting rid of the icons and just pinning them to my start window.

I guess they were accustomed to their own mess, and It was the only way they could (somehow) work efficiently - which makes no sense to me.
