First and foremost identify your competencies and develop them to perfection. Do not self criticize, instead develop self confidence. Accept compliments and most important reaffirm your real worth.

I would recommend you think about your life goals and how you want to achieve personal progress towards it. Think about the baby steps you can take in the next week, and those that you may have already done. When you feel like you're productive towards your life goals, it can promote this sense of achievement and confidence.
Also, avoid comparison with other people, especially on social media, as you must remember that people post the best of themselves on social media.

Push yourself.
Eat right, exercise, work/study hard, read, save, invest, set goals.
You do not have to be better than everyone, just better than average and you will find once you get peregrinated, that it is not too arduous.

Setting goals and working on self-confidence, Is futile If you don't believe In yourself and your abilities.
It's not difficult to formulate the latter and when you do, you'll find that self-esteem will develop naturally.

There are many ways to improve self-esteem but the first step is to always trust on yourself even if you're a cat but believe that you're lion.

Focus on what you enjoy and avoid the distractions. Everything is relative and your perception of yourself is only based on others.

Don't be controlled by thought of "you" about yourself.
Wether you have this illusion called self-esteem, or not.
you're still gonna be yourself with same talents, skillset,... .
chasing self-esteem, is just enriching the idea of identity, which eventually make you emprisoned in it.
Instead, unleash that identity, be free. Allow yourself to be weak and strong.
The difference here will be in % in strong and % in weak (every aspect). And that'd be determined by your actions and behaviour at every situation in your life (experience).
And that's what you should focus on.
Just unconditionally love yourself and have faith, when accepting yourself, you can change yourself, by that you gain real control, with flow.
just an opinion)
