Safest Massaging Platforms 07-04-2022, 02:00 AM

Didn't know where exactly to post this, but I think this post is long over due. I constantly see people using TG as their messenger of choice, but I plan to offer some better alternatives.
1. Session - Session in my opinion is the best secure messaging application you can use. Now email or phone number is required to sign up. Instead you are given a unique ID. Your traffic is also routed through several nodes and is end-to-end encrypted.
2. Signal - Signal is my number 2 only because it requires a phone number to sign up. Signal has been tried and tested and has proven they respect privacy and are secure. The app is also open source as well as their protocol.
3. TG - TG is number 3 in my opinion for a few reasons. The first is that chats, channels, and groups are not end-to-end encrypted. Second is that the encryption they use has little known about it, and messages are only encrypted server side ( if you use the "Secret Chat" ). They also require a phone number to sign up. TG recently has given data to German law enforcement which included phone number, messages, IP address information, photo's etc.
4. XMPP - I personally enjoy XMPP ( aka Jabber ) but I found that not many people use it. While you can encrypt your messages and your connection through Tor, it's just hard to find the OG's that use it.
5. Whatsapp - Never trust Facebook with any of your information. If you do then I won't be surprised when you get arrested or you get put on a watch list.
6. Wickr - Just whatsapp but run by Amazon. This is another country that does not respect your privacy.
