A news team would probably be better than a podcast. I have a feeling a podcast could get cringy.

If it were well-done and professional a podcast would be really cool to see.

At the same time Oni does have a point that it could be cringy at times, moreso maybe to those not apart of the forum looking in if the podcast isn't up to par with what they'd expect. Though, I feel like if it's done in a professional enough manner and the conversation remains interesting and on-topic there are ways to craft the podcast in such a way to minimize cinginess and it may work out great.

A news-team would be pretty cool too, would probably help SEO of the site as well which is a double plus

Though, I kind of like the podcast because I can just put it in the background while I'm doing something else, or just going about my routine and listen to it then. It's convenient, and has some significant advantage over the internet articles a news team would create.

Ideally, we could have both :O

I considered this. I have a few ideas on how to keep the podcast on topic to avoid cringe, like a timeslot and structure, and it would prob be bi-weekly so we have plenty to talk about.

Sounds like if the structure is kept to and it's done professionally, it could be a really successful idea. I would be curious to see what happens since my only forum is SL, I have never see it done.

The key to a good podcast is having a co-host that you have good chemistry with. Being able to bounce jokes off one another and being on the same level is key, which is why I had @Oni in mind to help me with this, but he doesn't seem too interested, so I might have to find someone else.

He's also been rather busy lately and may not be able to keep it up during term-times. If he wasn't constantly working on the site, I would have said that would be awesome. Shame.

So, I'm looking into getting some pro audio gear to do some live streaming/pod-casting, and thought it might be cool to do a SL podcast. I believe we did this a long time ago, but I have a few ideas on how the new podcasts format:
Topics would include site news, world news, guests, member of the day (possibly) some group discussion, and commentary on various other topics, like music, games, tech, and YouTube. What do you guys think? Have any ideas? Want to help out?

This would be awesome, and I'd love to be a part of it, and also if a news team gets formed I'd love to be a part of it as well. We could always have a for fun - SL podcast, and then if people like it enough make it Official.
