I agree it's their money and they are entitled to do whatever with it. But was it necessary now amidst the pandemic when many countries are struggling to get their people vaccinated for want of funds.

It's no different to every billionaire who does not provide a single dollar of assistance during the pandemic.

Branson chooses to spend his cash, and others decide to keep It. Both Instances are much of a muchness - they're not helping the COVID-19 situation but as you've said, It's their money and they have every right to do as they please.
