I haven't played the entire series at all, but I have played Resident Evil 6: The Gold edition though and it was great to be honest.

I've heard a lot of mixed things about RE6. I've heard that some parts are good, and then I've heard in general it's not that great. Personally I don't like co-op/having to work with AI so that's kind of a turn off for me.
