Just a few questions to start of the debate.

Is it right to believe in anything without proof?
Can religions create world peace?
Should religion be taught in public schools? Why or why not?

I think teaching one particular religion at a public school is wrong. Not everyone has the same beliefs, nor do they want another person's beliefs shoved down their throat. I felt like that at my school when we took a 'Teen Leadership' class, it was basically an abstinence and Christianity class.

I don't get how that thought is absurd. I can't believe in something there is no proof for.

No. For example, if I tell you that there is a floating pink and green unicorn behind you, would you believe me or would you turn around to prove me wrong? If you would choose to believe and not look behind you then I would say you're an idiot.

Can religions create world peace?
No. Just by reading news you can tell. Hating someone because of their sexual orientation automatically guarantees no world peace, ever. Unless of course you kill every single person who isn't heterosexual, that way you could have one mass era of genocide and then an era of peace for a short while... I guess..


Should religion be taught in public schools? Why or why not?
No. Mainly for the reason that a school would only teach 1-3 religions. If a person believes there must be some higher being that created everything, it's their business to research it for themselves without any outside influence. This also extends to me thinking that nobody should be forced into a religion while they're an infant, that should be classed as brainwashing.

Yes, they can most certainly create peace, hence most religions like Christianity and Islam always teaches us things about peace and love.
But the at this time of the world, religion is draining away.

Religion should not be taught in public schools.

1. It should be taught from your family.
2. School sometimes gives wrong or false information about a religion.
3. Most children in schools can't be bothered to teach them religion. But when it comes to families they have to listen or respect them.

Yes it does. Everything must be proven for it to be factual. Sure, you can believe in anything you want without proof, but just because you believe in it doesn't make it true.

Is it right to believe in anything without proof? Well since I'm Muslim I do believe in god, by reading the Quran.
Can religions create world peace? No and it will never create world peace. There's plenty of reasons, people have different opinions and thoughts in religion. One side says their is a god, others say there isn't.
Should religion be taught in public schools? Why or why not? It should why not! Teenagers and young adults need to know what's going on in the world, why war happens and why people dislike other thoughts.

That's a good question, but it relates more to personal opinion and content of what he/she is believing in. For example, should we believe in Extra Terrestrials? My opinion on that matter would be yes, as the Universe is vast and ever-expanding. However, at the time we have no proof of them. Now, onto the matter of God and religion(s). Personally being an agnostic atheist, I don't believe it is right to believe in certain things. I believe there is most likely a "Higher Power," but I don't believe in all the stories that go with it. For example, Noah's Arc, Jonah and the Whale, etc. So I'd say depending on what it is and personal preference, some things aren't right to believe in while some are.

Can religions create world peace?
No they cannot. If anything I can believe they can only cause racism and wars. Although there hasn't been a war over strictly religion since the (Thirty Years War?), it can still cause terroristic attacks from extremists and such.

Should religion be taught in public schools? Why or why not?
No it should not due to the fact that many people have different beliefs. I'm an athiest, so why should I be taught about God and possibly the Devil? For one, religion is biased as they will represent God as the "all-might savior" even though he killed millions and discriminates us into a "forced-worship" if we would like to get into "heaven." Satan on the other hand, he lets all in according to The Bible. If it will be talking about the past history of religions and not religion class however, I'm fine with that.

I think there shouldnt be religion schools. I think there should just be schools for any race to join. How are you suppose to know about new religions if you only go to a religion school. Well im saying the schools i go to are everyone
