Rift is a MMORPG set in a fantasy world called Telara, which is the focal point of several different elemental Planes. These Planes are realities representing the elemental forces of Air, Fire, Water, Earth, Life, and Death, and it is at the one point where every one of these Planes intersect with each other that Telara exists. Each Plane is governed by a Dragon-deity, which is the personification of that elemental force. Through the actions of the Dragon of Extinction, Regulos, the various Dragons have united in an alliance known as the Blood Storm, for the purpose of invading Telara and gaining use of the intersection of all of their realms. In the past, the Blood Storm was defeated by the inhabitants of Telara with the help of the Vigil, the most powerful of the native gods of Telara.

Ehh, it looks like they're just doing the whole typical interface, gameplay, etc. It's nothing different.

It's really enjoyable after you get the hang of things, my main is on the Argent (PVE-RP) shard. I just leveled 20. If you create a character on the same shard I'll give you two platina (currency), which is enough for your first mount. The first mount will make you run 60% faster I think. Just press the 'O'-key and then 'Add' and add 'Interference' after you're done with the tutorial.

Also, one of the cool things is that you can start playing the game after downloading around 100MB of the game, then it'll download the rest in the background.

I agree to some extent, two weeks ago I would had fully agreed with you. But the content and gameplay is very dynamic. You'll see what I mean if you take some time to watch this video.
