hi guys,i wanted to ask about cmd that i've learned from youtube or other sites.ive tried to put it in use but theres still many errors.

Question1.how to really find ip address of another computer?
lets say im now chatting with a friend using facebook and i wanted to track his ip,i use net stat ,and alot things popped out.but which ip is the one that i wanted ,foreign add or local add?

Question2.remotely shutdown someones computer via network.
ok about this they said, first i should get my victims ip address,after that i type shutdown -i,then a box will appear n i must type the computer's name or ip.but when i do that n tap enter,it just said that"the entered computer name is not valid or remote shutdown is not supported on the target computer.check the name and then try again or contack your system administrator.(53)"

Question3.In school ive been trying to use cmd to send msg to another com,but nothing happened.is it i type wrong or what?
i type in cmd ,net user n nobody's com is there but administrator and HIN,but when i type net view,there are a lot of computer names such as this,ENGLAB03-COM01,ENGLAB03-COM02,...after that i type pingENGLAB03-COM01,the ip address came out,but after that i type net send (IP adddddd of the specific como) hello and i hit enter.it came out something like this "IP address does not exist or disconnected".my school's com is using lan.and can the school admin blocked cmd?

whao,nice,i've tried it,its great..um..but what if im in school n the computer's not connected to the internet but only computer to computer?

here i m given answer of your second question,in school when u contacted with internet then u found ur Private IP address not public IP address so when u enter IP address in pop up window of shutdown -i command than u enter private IP address which not help u because It's not work on public IP address.
